Experience has shown PSSA that many past clients whom have secured their trophy game over time, still yearn for the African hunt and all that a safari offers and since most will only trophy hunt 1 or 2 of a species what does one do in the future? With this in mind and the ability to cater to various budgets, PSSA offers limited non - trophy hunts on premium properties in South Africa.
Non - trophy hunts are safaris that are conducted in exactly the same style, offer the same experience and are conducted with the same professionalism as the trophy hunt, however the game hunted, will be animals that are aged with worn down horns, broken horns and old females without dependent young. This forms part of the management plan on many of our areas. We do not view it as a "cull hunt", we do not hunt at night, shoot off vehicles and do conduct all stalks exactly as one would when stalking a trophy animal. Clients may have the option to take any part of the animal for taxidermy purposes. A maximum of 4 clients on a 2 x 1 safari ( 2 clients and 1 professional hunter with 1 hunting vehicle x 2 ) Clients may have a non hunter accompany them.
This safari is an excellent introduction into the real safari experience for a truly affordable rate in "Big Five" country. This example of costing below may be changed to a more tailor made experience and have various options on other species of game and length of safari ( minimum of a full 7 days hunting ).

2 Impala rams max horn length of 20 inches, 4 impala ewes, 1 Blue wildebeest bull not exceeding 24 inches in spread, 2 Gemsbok of which 1 is a bull of horn length not exceeding 33 inches, 1 eland cow and 1 warthog of tusk length not exceeding 6 inches total length, 1 eland cow.
